How VAVA Helps One Family Learn, Grow, and Create Together
At Virginia Virtual Academy, personalized learning empowers families to thrive – not just academically, but creatively and emotionally as well. For Nikki, A VAVA parent, and her sixth-grade daughter Sophia, virtual learning has done more than provide an education; it has created space for entrepreneurship and family connection.
Threads of Connection
Nikki is not only a busy mom, she’s a certified life coach, entrepreneur, and the founder of Lovership Apparel, a brand that blends conscious fashion with emotional wellness. With affirming messages like “be-you-to-the-fullest” and designs such as a shirt labeled “HER” with a crown, Lovership inspires individuals to live their authentic selves.
“Lovership is about transcending conventional definitions of love and companionship,” Nikki explains. “It’s about deep, authentic connections – the kind we hope to cultivate in our families and friendships.”
Sophia plays a central role in the business. From modeling new designs to creating original artwork and helping develop styles for the youth line, she’s a true partner in every step.
Why Virtual Learning Works
For Sophia and her family, virtual learning wasn’t just a choice – it was a necessity. With an entrepreneurial lifestyle and frequent travel (Nikki’s wife is a basketball coach), having a school model that adapts to their lives was crucial. But the decision to enroll Sophia in VAVA also came from a desire for better health and emotional well-being.
“Sophia used to get sick a lot in the classroom,” Nikki shared. “And as a parent, you’re constantly juggling. Virtual school has removed so much of that stress. It’s been healthier and easier for all of us.”
Creativity Thrives at Home
For Sophia, the greatest benefit from the VAVA experience has been the freedom to be creative.
“I like that I can draw a lot and have free time,” Sophia said. “I also design new hoodies and pants for our youth department.”
She balances schoolwork with sketching, modeling, and even making jewelry. Her daily routine includes logging into VAVA classes, then diving into her artistic passions – something her mom wholeheartedly supports.
“When my other kids were in school, they were constantly stressed,” Nikki said. “I don’t want that for them. Life is about freedom. We’re not here to work and die, we’re here to be happy and whole.”
Building Something Bigger Than a Brand
As Lovership Apparel moves toward a national launch, Nikki and Sophia are grateful for the time, freedom, and support that VAVA provides.
“VAVA makes everything easier,” Sophia said. “I can go anywhere and still do all my work. Plus, I like working with my mom because I get to try on everything and model the clothes.”
Whether they’re working from home or taking a spontaneous trip to the beach, virtual learning gives their family the flexibility to grow their business, support each other, and stay grounded in what matters most – love, connection, and authenticity.
Nikki and Sophia are living proof of how VAVA can help families thrive, both in school and in life. We look forward to following your journey and can’t wait to see where it leads you both!
