VAVA Students Shine in the 2025 K12 Writing Competition
At Virginia Virtual Academy, creativity is part of everyday learning—and this year, our students took it to the next level.
In the 2025 K12 Writing Competition, students from across the country were invited to share their creativity through poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Among thousands of submissions, Virginia Virtual Academy students stood out for their originality, honesty, and imagination.
Even more exciting? Their creativity didn’t just shine—it earned recognition. Students were awarded:
- 1st Place prizes of $250
- 2nd Place prizes of $100
- People’s Choice awards of $50, selected through public voting
From playful poems to deeply personal reflections, these students stood out by sharing work that truly resonated.
Creative Voices from Young Writers
One of the most exciting parts of this year’s results is the range of students recognized—from elementary to high school. Each piece reflects not only writing skill, but also the confidence students build as they explore their creativity.
Whether crafting imaginative stories, capturing everyday moments in poetry, or sharing real-life experiences through nonfiction, VAVA students showed just how impactful student voice can be.
