Virginia Virtual Academy Launches Partnership with Manassas City Public Schools 

Virginia Virtual Academy of Manassas now enrolling for the 2025-2026 school year 

Reston, VA – As students across Virginia return to school, one Northern VA public school district is celebrating a new partnership. Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA) has partnered with the Manassas City Public School District (MCPS) to launch the district’s first fully online school: Virginia Virtual Academy of Manassas.   

Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA) provides online, tuition-free education to students across the state through partnerships with local school districts, like MCPS. This collaboration is designed to expand academic opportunities, increase flexibility for local families and ensure students can access high-quality education that meets their individual needs. All while keeping state funds in the local school district.  

“Our mission is to meet students where they are and provide an education that works for them,” said Kenny Moles, Executive Director at Virginia Virtual Academy. “This new partnership with Manassas City Public Schools allows us to reach even more families, whether their children are pursuing professional athletics, balancing work and school, managing health concerns, or simply thrive in an online setting.”  

This partnership represents a growing movement in education, with more than 27% of families nationwide considering online schooling options for their children. VAVA has multiple partnerships with local districts in Virginia, and has at least one student in each of Virginia’s 132 school divisions. In the 2025-2026 school year, VAVA will serve more than 5,500 students – a number that continues to grow year over year.
