Four Simple Steps to Enroll
Step 1
Create Parent Account
The K12 Enrollment Portal provides access to your online application to VAVA, along with real-time alerts and quick links to important info.
Step 2
Submit an Application
Once you’ve begun an application in the K12 Enrollment Portal, click the option to add a new student or continue with your application. Simply fill in the fields with your child’s information, select VAVA, and hit Submit.
Step 3
Upload Additional Documents
In this step, you’ll provide more detailed information about your child and upload additional documents, such as proof of residency and a birth certificate. For a list of specific documents that will be required, contact our enrollment consultants at 877.654.8486.
Step 4
Welcome to K12!
After successfully completing the enrollment process, your student will be approved. Please check your email for important information regarding your student’s status and how to access the Online School platform.

Eligibility Requirements
Program Eligibility
Students in grades K–12 who are official residents of the state of Virginia are eligible to enroll.
Students who live in the following districts must apply to VAVA via their local school: Bland, Bristol, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Galax, Giles, Grayson, Lee, Norton, Pulaski, Radford, Russell, Salem, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe.
Students who reside in Virginia but do not live in one of the above districts can apply online through our parent portal.

Age Requirement
To enroll, your kindergartner must be 5 years old by September 30 of the upcoming school year.
Proof of Residency
While attending VAVA you must maintain a full-time Virginia residency.
